Earth Day Fermentation 101 : April 18th, 2026
Earth Day Fermentation: Turning Scraps into Something Delicious
Celebrate Earth Day with Meaghan Carpenter - Co-Founder and Head Food Alchemist at HEX Ferments - and discover how the ancient art of fermentation can help reduce food waste while creating vibrant, probiotic-rich foods.
In this hands-on, small-group workshop, we’ll explore the history and science of vegetable fermentation before making a seasonal ferment together. Participants are encouraged to bring a vegetable or pantry ingredient from home that might otherwise go to waste - we’ll transform it into something flavorful and alive.
You’ll leave with a 32 oz jar of your own custom ferment, the recipe, and the skills to keep the magic bubbling in your own kitchen. All tools and additional ingredients are provided.
- Hands-on. Chopping involved, mostly standing.
- Limited to 15 participants.
- No exchanges or refunds (we cannot transfer your ticket to another class, sales are final. If this is a gift, please make sure the recipient is able to attend before you purchase).
A small, delicious act for the planet — and your gut. 🌱
